IF YOU’VE TRIED EVERY FAD DIET UNDER THE SUN AND STILL CAN’T SHIFT THE WEIGHT!
You’ve probable tried using willpower to stop yourself from overeating. It might have worked for a while but you found it a struggle to to make lasting changes to your eating habits.
Perhaps you promised yourself to follow a particular diet, that you will always hav sensible portions or that you will only eat when you’re hungry. And then, after a few hours, a few days or a few weeks, you’ve fallen off the wagon and you’ve ended up overeating again.
The problem is that there’s often an unconscious emotional element to overeating where it feels like it’s happening outside of your control. Things may be going well with your diet and then you had a stressful, upsetting day or a week where there were a number of challenges. And before you realised it you were back to eating in an out of control unhealthy way.
It could be that for as long as you remember it’s been hard for you to stop eating after you’ve had a sensible portion, almost as if your body does not know when it’s full. It may not feel like overeating is an emotional thing for you so much as a bodily sensation of craving more.
